CBD for Dummies Okay, you’re not a dummy. Maybe a bit ignorant to the properties of CBD. The entire marijuana plant includes the full spectrum. Remember that phrase – full spectrum. It will come up again later. It includes the following molecules: CBD, CBN, THC and CBN. Broad spectrum is a term that denotes the entire marijuana plant minus THC. Let’s refresh your recollection about THC. If you recall, THC or tetrahydrocannabinol is the fraternal twin to CBD and he is the chemical inside the plant that makes you feel high. For clients that want the healing effects without the psychoactive ingredient of THC, then they should look for products that isolate Cannabidiol. Isolates If you read labels carefully, you will come across products that isolate the CBD molecule. They don’t contain spectrum or broad spectrum molecules. Then isolated it becomes a powder. This is the purified version of the CBD molecule. It is white in color and can be added to protein powders, baking items, energy drinks, smoothies and more. Many of our clients like to take it in their morning tea. It’s a great way to beat Monday morning dread. Unlike its fraternal twin, it won’t make your feel high but will improve your outlook on life and improve your mood so you can make it through the day. Full Spectrum and Broad Spectrum If it’s the weekend and you don’t have to work or operate heavy equipment, you may prefer a full spectrum product. It will include every plant molecule, including CBD and THC. Remember that’s Cannabidiol and tetrahydrocannabinol. You will get that high feeling and each person’s body reacts differently. You may feel high for 5 minutes or 5 hours. As an adult, you make the call. Broad spectrum includes everything but THC. Ingest a broad spectrum product if you experience a migraine at work or a muscle spasm. You will feel better instantly and still be able to do your job. Nano CBD Nano is derived from the Greek word nanos – it means dwarf. It today’s terminology it refers to something that is submicroscopic. Cannabidiol + submicroscopic = nano CBD. The CBD molecule is shrunken down to less than 100 nano microbes. This process turns it into a water-like substance. In this way it can be added to face creams, body butters, perfumes and oils. If you’re not feeling well, add it to a hot bath and soak. Then put a few drops in your shea butter, cocoa butter or coconut oil. Whatever type of moisturizer you prefer. Rub that into your pores and instantly feel better. In this form, the skin can ingest it faster and easier. |
